Hi! I’m Sarah! I live on 3.5 acres in the beautiful foothills of Northern California in a 1970s ranch home that could use a little TLC.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and though I loved the idea of buying a home where I grew up, my line of work just did not allow for it. In 2015, my husband and I made the BIG decision to move. We packed up our stuff and drove 2 hours NE. We got jobs, bought a house and after three years our tiny Gold Rush town now feels like home.
Growing up I dreamed of the country life. I wanted to be the country girl from all the songs I so gleefully sung along to in the car. I always said that one day I would own a truck, but I can honestly say that I never thought it would actually happen. At 28 my dreams became my reality. Goodness, I love this life.
My town does not have a stop light and Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (which used to be walking distance from my house) are now far enough away that it isn't worth it to make the trip, but living a slow life is far more rewarding than I ever thought it could be. I am discovering where happiness comes from, the satisfaction of a job well done, taking pride in simple tasks, and living gratefully.
We are slowly settling in to our ranch home. I have many projects on my wish list/to do list and the list just seems to keep getting longer! I hope to create a space that shares those little moments of happiness with you.
Oh! I also own and operate a little shop called Blue Oak Farm.
This is my favorite quote. I hope it makes you smile as much as it does me!
“Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. The hummingbird’s delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life’s sweetest creation.”
